October 2016
The Daniel K. Inouye Institute was proud to once again partner with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History and Zocalo Public Square in the national discussion “What It Means To Be American.” The second in a series of three programs to take place from 2015-2017, this year’s topic focused on our people’s strong connections to the past, present and future, and Irene Hirano Inouye led an esteemed panel featuring Admiral Harry B. Harris Jr., Kurt W. Tong, and Roy Yamaguchi in a lively discussion on Hawaii’s Role in the Pacific Century.
